London 2012 Olympic Medals inspired tutorial

I know I haven't blogged in awhile but I'm back! This is my Olympic inspired look! It is based off of the three medal colors; gold, silver, and bronze. And the purple eyeliner is to represent the color of the part that goes around the neck...not sure what it's called! But anyways, this is the look!

 Products used:
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk
Gold eyeshadow
NYX silver glitter
L'Oreal Hip eyeshadow in platinum
Too Faced George and Wheezie
UD eyeliner in Ransom
UD eyeshadow in flash
Estee Lauder sumptuous mascara

Face:
L'Oreal true match foundation (W6 sun beige) and concealer (W4/5)
NYC smooth skin loose powder in translucent
Estee Lauder blush in radiant peach

Lips:
Maybelline Baby lips lip balm in quenched
Gold eyeshadow
CO Bigelow Soda fountain lipgloss in Butterscotch Vanilla Sundae

For the eyes:
Prime the lids with UDPP.
Apply NYX milk all over the lids as a sticky base.
With a flat shader brush, apply the gold eyeshadow to the inner third of the lid.
With the same brush, take Too Faced George and Wheezie (the copper/bronze side) and apply to the outer third of the lid.
Mix L'Oreal Hip eyeshadow in platinum and NYX silver glitter with mixing medium, eyedrops or water and apply to the center of the lid.
Line the upper lashline and half of the lower lashline with UD eyeliner in Ransom.
Top off the eyeliner with UD eyeshadow in Flash.
Apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

For the face:
Apply foundation and concealer to the trouble spots, starting at the center of the face working outwards.
Set everything with translucent powder.
Apply a soft, shimmery peach blush to the apples of the cheeks.

For the lips:
Make sure lips are properly moisturized.
Mix gold eyeshadow and a clear lip gloss with lots of golden sparkle (for that "gold medal" effect) and apply to the lips.

I hope you enjoyed this Olympic inspired tutorial! I also posted The Olympics Tag! by Amarixe, on YouTube!

District 7: Lumber Tutorial

This tutorial was inspired by District 7's lumber and by their tribute, Johanna Mason (Catching Fire). Johanna is a kick butt kind of woman who doesn't take no for an answer. In the tribute parade for the 75th Hunger Games/3rd Quarter Quell was a tree. This look is inspired by her tree outfit and her "sultry style" (if you've read Catching Fire, it is based off of what she does when it is just Peeta and Katniss in the elevator with her), and hard personality.

Products used:
Eyes:
Urban Decay primer potion
MAC paint pot in soft ochre
NYX jumbo eye pencil in cottage cheese
UD eyeshadow in buck, suspect, and darkhorse
theBalm eyeshadow in jealous jordana
UD eyeliner in whiskey
Maybelline lash discovery mascara in brownish black

Face:
L'Oreal tru match concealer in W4/5
NYC smooth skin loose powder in translucent
Neutrogena skin clearing mineral powder in honey beige
elf bronzer in contouring blush and bronzer duo

Lips:
Estee Lauder pure color lipstick in barely nude
Stila lip glaze in dreamy

For the eyes:
Apply UDPP and MPP as the primer
Use the NYX jumbo eye pencil in cottage cheese as a sticky base to help avoid any fall out
Taking a large, flat shader brush, apply UD buck all over the 2/3rds of the lid
With a small brush, use UD suspect on the inner 1/3 of the lid
In the crease, take UD darkhorse. This color is perfect because it incorporates the brown of the lumber but the green undertones of brush
Take UD eyeliner in Whiskey, and apply it on the upper lash line and slightly wing it out. This does not have to be perfect because it is serving as a guideline for the addition eyeshadow that will be placed later
Still using whiskey, line the outer half of the lower lash line slightly winging it out
With theBalm's jealous jordana, fill in between the two winged lines and blend up into darkhorse
This will add the much needed "green plant" effect
With a liner brush, apply jealous jordana to the waterline
In order to add a tree root effect, apply Maybelline's lash discovery mascara in brownish black to the top and bottom lashes

For the face:
Apply concealer to your problem spots and set them with powder
Contour your face with the elf contouring bronzer powder

For the lips:
Apply Estee Lauder pure color lipstick in barely nude and Stila lip glaze in dreamy to give a nude brown look.

I hope this helped you channel your inner Johanna Mason!

Tequila Sunrise: A Tutorial

With summer in full swing, makeup may be on your back burner. But looking cute and put together is still desired, even in the summer months. The only difference? You want it laid back and easy. This tutorial is certainly fun and relaxed, but it takes a little more work. But it is the extreme case. This look can also be done with a simple stoke of colored eyeliner. I just wanted to take it a little farther. :)

Products used:
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
MAC paint pot in soft ochre
Urban Decay eyeshadows in verve, buck, naked, free love, and suspect
Make Up For Ever eyeshadow in #75
NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in Milk
NYX studio liquid liner in dramatic gold
NYC liquid eyeliner in black
UD skyscraper mascara
Covergirl lashblast 24/7 mascara in very black

Face:
Foundation routine
elf studio blush in candid coral

Lips:
Maybelline Baby lips

For the eyes:
Prime with UDPP and MPP in soft ochre
Apply UD eyeshadow in naked and gently pat verve on top to give a satiny look to the lid
On a fluffy shadow brush, take UD buck and suspect and blend those together; also for a satiny look
With a flat eyeliner brush, line your upper lash line with NYX milk
Pat MUFE #75 over the top of milk to make the liner a bright, hot pink
On top of that, use UD free love eyeshadow to create a pinky-coral liner shade
With NYX liquid eyeliner in dramatic gold, line the upper lash line as close to the lash line as possible
Apply an EXTREMELY THIN line of black liner to the lash line
Use the blackest mascara you have to give the look of false lashes

For the face:
Follow my simple foundation routine or use your own!
On a large blush brush, apply elf candid coral to the apples of the cheeks

For the lips:
Keep 'em natural!

This is also achieved by just swiping on a bright liner color! But I, being the overachiever that I am, haha, decided to do more! Hope this was a fun look!

Jadyn

Foundation Routine

This is my basic foundation routine whenever I wear a full face of foundation. During the summer, I normally change this up by adding a bit of moisturizer to this and making my foundation much lighter on the skin.

Before
After!

Products used:
Urban Decay De-Slick makeup setting spray
Revlon photo ready foundation in medium beige
Neutrogena skin clearing foundation in honey beige
NYC smooth skin loose powder in translucent
Neutrogena skin clearing mineral pressed powder in honey beige
Foundation brush (optional)
Round makeup sponge
elf Flat topped face brush (studio line)

How to:
First, mist 3-4 sprays of UD de-slick makeup setting spray onto the face and let dry
Taking the fingers or a foundation brush, mix the two liquid foundations and work into the skin
Work all over making sure to get the temples, jawline, neck, and ears if necessary
Taking the round makeup sponge, blot over the entire face to smooth out harsh lines and give the face a natural and flawless look
Mist 3-4 more sprays of the UD de-slick makeup setting spray onto the face and let it sink into the skin
Using a fluffy face brush or kabuki brush, mix the two powders together and buff into the skin. This gives it a softer, more airbrushed look
The translucent powder helps set the foundation without looking cakey and the pressed gives the skin some additional color correction.

Well, this is the famous foundation routine I use in all my posts. Hope you enjoyed!

Classic Pinup Look: With A Twist

This look is built upon the Cinna inspired tutorial. It is like the classic winged eyeliner and red lips that are popular and oh-so-easy to do. However, this has gold added to the eyeliner, and a slightly altered lip.

Products Used:
Eyes:
Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil in Perversion

Face: nothing different than what was used in Cinna tutorial

Lips:
Estee Lauder pure color lipstick in Orchid
Covergirl lip perfection lipstick in Spellbound

For the eyes:
Follow all the directions as the Cinna tutorial except, when applying the thin black liquid liner, instead of stopping at the end of the lash line, continue the liner in the same direction as the gold eyeliner
Also, instead of applying MUFE 23L on the waterline, use UD Perversion

For the lips:
Using Estee Lauder's Orchid lipstick, apply it all over the lips, pinup style
Then, taking Covergirl lip perfection lipstick in Spellbound, apply it lightly to the center of the lips, creating a gradient effect.

There you have it! I classic pinup style with a bit of twist.
